Farewell to Harcourt House
At the beginning of January, Harcourt House closed
its doors for the last time. After many years of
running a hostel for medical students and others
with an interest in mission and international health,
the MMA Council came to the realisation that the
need and use for such a hostel had changed from
the early years of the organisation, and reluctantly
decided that it was time to close it down and sell the
building.
As you will see, in this edition of HealthServe we
have a story from one of the many hundreds of
healthcare missionaries who have passed through
the hostel down the years, and a brief overview of its
history.
If you were one of those who have stayed, however
briefly, at either Harcourt House, or at one of the
other hostels that MMA has run over the years, we
would love to hear from you. We want to hear your
stories and memories, both of the house, and of
those who went on into mission after staying there.
We are also hoping to draw both the stories and the
authors together later this year for a special
Harcourt House reunion - more details to follow in
the next few months.
