Locums Needed
Most mission hospitals function with the bare minimum of staff, especially doctors. Consequently when a member of staff falls ill, goes on furlough or leaves it can create a serious gap until a long-term replacement can be found. It is at those times that locum staff are extremely valuable. As most absences are planned several months to a year in advance, it is usually possible to make arrangements, as long as the hospital has a network of personnel that they can call upon. To help with this, we are compiling a database of health professionals who can step into such situations to ensure that life saving services can be maintained.
Locum placements can be from a few weeks to a few months in duration, and may be in any part of the world. If you think that you could help in this manner, please use the response form in this magazine, or write to us asking for more details.
