Devotional Book for Elective Students
For anyone working overseas for the first time, especially in a healthcare setting, it can be quite a shock – a new culture, a different climate and diet, a new language (or languages) to accommodate, on top of dealing with people living in the extremes of poverty and with medical conditions and disabilities now quite unknown in the West. This can be both traumatic and eye opening, inspiring and draining. It is vital for any believer to have a regular time for God in their day, to hear from Him, and lift all they have seen and dealt with to Him in prayer.

It was with this in mind that we have compiled a book of daily readings, written by students, health professionals, missionaries and others, with a view to inspiring, challenging and encouraging students on elective placement.

Divided into daily readings over an eight-week period, this is a compact resource that can be of use to anyone, especially if working in a mission setting for the first time. If you would like a free copy, please contact the HealthServe office. It is also available on-line at http://www.healthserve.org/electives/life_support/about.htm
