New Elective Booklets for All Healthcare Students Available On-Line
As the new academic year gets under way in the Northern Hemisphere, many healthcare students will be thinking and planning ahead to their elective programmes. For many Christian students in particular, this is the opportunity to take time out of their training and discover more about healthcare in the developing world, and get an idea of how God is working through healing and caring ministries across the globe.
CMF has produced a booklet called “Preparing for your Medical Elective Overseas” for many years now. The aim of this has been to give medical students the most useful and up-to-date information available to help prepare effectively for an overseas elective. Now, in addition we have booklets for students of nursing/midwifery, dentistry and (in hard copy only at present) for students of the allied health professions. Each comes with its own related appendices of information on agencies offering elective placements for students of each profession, plus other useful information.

The new booklets can be viewed as web pages or downloaded as PDFs. Alternatively, you can contact us with your postal address and we will forward them to you in hard copy.
NB.
Although this literature is written mainly for UK students looking to take elective placements outside of the UK, they can be of use for any students interested in working overseas. However, it is important to point out that CMF does not have any information or resources related to doing electives in the UK.
