MICAH CHALLENGE EMPOWERS CHRISTIANS TO ACT AGAINST AIDS
Churches called on to take part in Micah Sunday 07
Hundreds of UK churches are expected to hold Micah Sunday 07 events this Autumn.
The focus of Micah Sunday will be the global HIV and AIDS epidemic and resources for churches will be provided by anti poverty coalition Micah Challenge UK.
Andy Clasper, Micah Challenge UK Executive Director, said: “Micah Sunday 07 will be a chance to look at God's heart for justice, mercy and humility and our response to the injustices we find in the world around us.
“It will also be a time to take practical steps towards the alleviation of poverty, looking in particular at the HIV and AIDS epidemic and asking the Government to act on this pressing issue.”
The official Micah Sunday date is October 14, but churches can hold events at any time from the beginning of October to the end of 2007.
Micah Challenge UK also wants to include a list of Micah Sunday O7 events and services on its website. If you are holding a Micah event please email the details to ukco-ordinator@micahchallenge.org.uk.
CMF is one of the coalition of organisations supporting the Micah Challenge. More information about the Micah Challenge and Micah Sunday, including downloadable resources, can be found at www.micahchallenge.org.uk
