Qualified Doctor Needed for fundraising trip in 2009.
From 24th April - 1st May 2009, Missionary Ventures GB is sending a Challenge Team to undertake a one week Sinai Desert Challenge to raise funds for the organisations work amongst the poor in many countries. Due to remote location a qualified Doctor is needed to be part of the team.
The trip will cost £990.00 and participants are also asked to raise sponsorship.

Cornerstone Practice is a Christian practice serving over 13,000 patients on 3 sites in Blackburn, UK and a neighbouring town (www.cornerstonepractice.com). Their vision is to provide excellent medical care to their patients, with a particular focus on the more deprived communities, including those of South Asian (predominantly Pakistani) ethnic background. They are bidding to set up 3 new health centres in Blackburn which are due to open in early 2009. They will require GP's, nurses, health-care assistants and reception staff for these new premises. They are particularly looking for staff with experience of working within the Pakistani culture. Surgeon and Anaesthetist required in Bangladesh
The Christian Hospital, Chandraghona, in south-east Bangladesh, has for over 100 years served the people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The staff there welcome short-term volunteer medical teams, arranged regularly by the Baptist Missionary Society. The next team is due to leave on January 31st 2009 and will return on 14th February.
Countless patients have benefitted from the input of previous teams. The infrastructure of the hospital is good.

CURE International are seeking a Medical Director/Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to work in Niamey Niger. They would be responsible for medical oversight of the hospital which includes recruitment and training of physicians and staff for the hopsital, monitoring of all aspects of quality control of medical care, development and execution of education and training programs for national residents and physicians, and the development and maintenance of relationships with government agencies, non-governmental organisations and the medical community within the country. Also functions as an orthopaedic surgeon in the performance of surgeries.
Skills and qualifications needed:
Medical degree from qualified, recognised medical institution. Board certification required. Current licensure. 2 years experience in private or hospital practice. Experience in the developing world strongly preferred. Minimum 1 year experience in a management role. Excellent verbal and written use of the English language required. Fluency in French strongly preferred. Strong interest in teaching and training. Competency and proficiency in surgical procedure; Stong communication skills, especially with those of different cultures; Must demonstrate a mature Christian faith and a sincere commitment to the mission of CURE International.
