CURE International are seeking a Executive Director to work in Kabul, Afghanistan. The successful applicant would be responsible for providing for the operational, financial, and spiritual oversight of the hospital and serves as the primary spokesperson and representative of the hospital in the medical, business and Christian communities and with CURE U.S. headquarters. Also responsible for serving as the primary administrative liaison with the government and non-government entities within the country.
Applicant must have a minimum of five years hospital administration experience; knowledge of developing country settings and/or previous cross-cultural experience; international travel experience. Fluency in English required. Ability to assess risk, implement strategy, select people and measure performance. Excellent conflict management and problem solving skills. Excellent communications, public relations, and listening skills. Demonstrated ability to cope with and manage change. Understanding of IT systems and inventory management. Ability to build and maintain relationships with people of diverse backgrounds. Emotionally mature and self motivated. Must demonstrate a mature Christian faith and a sincere commitment to the mission of CURE International.

Tearfund are seeking
Project Manager, Integrated Health & Nutrition to work in
Southern Sudan Contract period: To start immediately – 31 March 2009 (with possible extension subject to funding)
Tearfund are seeking an experienced manager for our nutrition and primary health care programme in Wuror, Jonglei. You will be responsible for overseeing the health and nutrition teams and managing the health and nutrition programmes. The nutrition programme includes 6 SFPs, 6 OTP and a stabilisation centre, and the primary health care programme involves provision of healthcare in 2 PHCUs, community health education, EPI and community empowerment. You will seek to integrate the nutrition programme within primary health care, work closely and give support to the County Health Department to strengthen health systems in this area. You will need to work alongside the seconded nutrition staff from the State Ministry of Health, strengthening their capacity. Candidates should have good experience in managing health/nutrition programmes, ideally be a health professional with nutritional experience, and have skills in strengthening health systems.
Applicants will have excellent people and project cycle management skills to lead expatriate and Sudanese staff to implement sustainable solutions. An ability to establish strong relationships with the local community and government representatives will be vital. You should have good technical knowledge with a degree or equivalent in a related sector and must be able to write quality reports using appropriate computer software.
You must be fluent in English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong training and coaching skills are essential to capacity build staff and communities. Knowledge and understanding of the Southern Sudan context and the relevant local language would be an advantage.
