CURE International are seeking a Speech Therapist to work in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Brief job description:
Responsible for providing speech pathology services in the areas of feeding, oral motor, language development and augmentative communication for children having undergone surgical procedures for cleft lip or palate disabilities. The Speech Therapist may provide care for those who are unable to pay, those who are subsidized and those who are private pay.
Skills and qualifications needed:
Certified speech therapist with a degree from qualified, recognized institution. Current licensure as a speech therapist.
1 to 3 years experience in private practice, hospital or rehabilitation facility. Experience in the developing world strongly preferred. Prior experience treating children with cleft lip or palate preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field of speech therapy. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks, establish priorities and work independently. Ability to keep matters confidential. Commitment to statement of faith and mission of CURE International.
