Kiwoko Hospital, Uganda
Further details are now available from Dr Ian Taylor, Friends of Kiwoko, 30 The Close, Marino, Holywood, Co Down BT18 0AW (see also article from Summer 1995 edition: God can use even you

Dr Donald Brownlie writes from the only properly functioning hospital in the Luweero District of Uganda. In spite of threatened deficits the facilities grow. Talented staff, both national and expatriate, and other provision from churches and mission agencies, have kept fees at levels which the poor can afford and not even the destitute are turned away. AIDS care and prevention included 1680 blood tested with full counselling. There were 954 major operations and 948 deliveries. The heart of the hospital is the morning service with its lively and joyful singing. The spiritual element remains the key in the whole service.

Dr Ian Clarke, the founder of Kiwoko and his wife Robbie have now moved their family base back to Uganda and have started the International Medical Centre in Kampala. They worship at Kampala Pentecostal Church where six to eight thousand people attend one of the four services on a Sunday morning.
